Summer Gardening

I stumbled accross this great label the other day. Hackwith Design House Lisa and Dustin Hackwith are the husband and wife team behind it.  Their spring 2013 collection is simply beautiful. My favourite pieces are the two tone maxi skirt and the soft grey jumpsuit. I love the casual photoshoot, it looks as though she is about to go gardening (very glamourously of course).  I actually helped my boyfriend's mum in the garden the other weekend and it was very theraputic. We picked some fresh strawberries, snow peas and lettuce a day and a made a freash salad-was so yum!

Yellow Brick Road

I discovered this gorgeous store when I took my friend Jess from Melbourne out and about Auckland.  It's funny how you get so busy with your life that it is not until a visitor comes that you go explore and enjoy your own city!
The Yellow Brick Road is a sweet little boutique located in Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand. It was actually my dream store; a vintage inspired treasure trove of fashion, jewellery and gifts. I loved the large gum-ball machine and american lollies, the super girly clothes with lace and frills, and the old school wallpaper. I bought myself some gorgeous metal bow hair-ties.  Defiantly worth checking out for some Christmas shopping. Hope you are all enjoying the first official day of summer. Amber xx

Im not lost, I just want you to find me

It's hard to put into words how much I love this song. Six60 are amazing enough in their own right, but pairing them up with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is pure genius. I was lucky enough to see them live in Christchurch and meet their lead singer Matiu Walters at Fashion Week... he has the most amazing singing voice. This Auckland-based roots-reggae-rock band have come along way from meeting up at Otago Uni a few years back. Check them our for yourself, they're my top album pick for summer. Hilary

Saben Portraits of Style

Last night we went to the oppening of Ponsonby Central, what a great space! Auckland has really upped it's hospitality since the Rugby World Cup. A friend of ours who lives in Melbourne came over to NZ for the first time a few weeks ago and after taking her out to a few of our favourite places she was impressed, we think that's saying something! We thoroughly enjoyed browsing the numerous eclectic rooms within the space (definitely check it out for yourself) and loved chatting with friends and chowing down on all the great food, wine and ice-cream. The main reason we were there was to support our dear friend Brooke who works for Saben. The iconic brand has an established presence in any crowd, we saw BFF necklaces and Tilly wallets everywhere (we both own a set ourselves because we love them so much). Saben displayed a collection of photos lensed by Mike Rooke titled Portraits of Style. The images captured Auckland fashion icons, encapsulating their unique style with a Saben handbag of their choice. We loved it! (for a full view of the portraits visit here). It was also great to meet the winners of the tickets we offered on our facebook page, courtesy of Saben. Lydia May and CJ Flemming, we hope you both enjoyed your evening too:)
