Beautifully Sharp

Bonjorno! Right now I am sitting beside the main river of Venice; it is defiantly the most beautiful place I have been to so far.  I still can’t believe I am here!! (hope to post some photos soon but you really have to come here to experience just how gorgeous it is).  Apologizes for my lack of Europe blogging-it’s a lot more difficult than I thought.  A combination of wanting to do as much as I can while over here so there is not much time (and the 34 degrees heat is exhausting so I am sleeping more!) and internet trouble at every place we stay.

I went to the "live!" exhibition at Pecci Gallery of contemporary art in Florence.  It was huge!! Like most places you weren’t meant to take photos but I took a few sneaky ones anyway! It was surreal seeing up close all the artist’s work that I had studied at university (such as Damien Hurst-the pokodots, Gianfranco Gorgoni-the Jimi Hendrex portrait and David Lachapelle). I loved the hand painted flowers (by Massimo Barzagli) on the sharp glass wedges. The juxtaposition was interesting and aesthetically pleasing. I could imagine putting these in a courtyard or inside my house along the hallway maybe!

Sending everyone in New Zealand especially my love.

Happy 'lil parcel

Oooooooo I love presents in the mail (even if they're from me to myself haha)
It was the BEST feeling when I came home from to work to find a happy lil parcel on my doorstep,
especially as I had completely forgotten I bought these in the Asos sale a while back.

FOUREYES

I can't believe I have only just found this awesome site.
FOUREYES takes a look at street style, capturing beautiful photographs of beautiful people.
The bloggers behind this new project are four guys who love fashion, people and photography,
one of who I use to work with at Country Road, go Mino!!
I LOVE that they exhibit the style of young fashion-forward New Zealander's.
We will be keeping a close eye on this site as it grows. Check it out here. Hilary x

The new Glassons.com

Hot off the press: The all new WWW.GLASSONS.COM.
Glassons' recently vamped site is looking fabulous.
We love how easy it is to navigate around the site and all the gorgeous typography and signage.
There's definitely a couple garments we would love to add to our wardrobe.

NZ Next Top Model Cycle 3

So we've entered the third season of New Zealand's Next Top Model and Amber and I are hooked.
In the first episode, 13 hopeful finalists modeled an 'early settler' theme with the beautiful backdrop of The Bay of Islands.
Our favorite photographs were the first three pictures; Yana, Aminah and Tyne. The stunning photography was captured by NZ legend Russ Flatt
In the second episode the girls learnt about commercial modeling when asked to 'sell' a Magnum ice-cream in a pool-side retro 60's theme.
We weren't hugely impressed with the photographs, you can see them here.
After an emotional judging panel Aminah was the first to be eliminated and sent home.
Internationally renowned photographer Tony Drayton shot the girls in the third and most recent episode.
We loved this moody, dim-lit bar scene where the girls had to outshine each other and the surrounding models in the same dress.
Luck ran out for the Glassons' wild-card Holly who was seen sent home.
Make sure you're tuned in to the next episode this Friday at 7:30 on TV3.
You can watch it from anywhere around the world on TV3 On Demand.
