Charlie Brown was the only non-kiwi designer to show at this years New Zealand Fashion Week.
Charlie says she likes the idea of being a big fish in a little pond.
As soon as the first model wearing a sparkly jacket walked past those big red lips we knew the show was going to be intense. The show was a little all over the place; glittery and heavily beaded gowns, to camo, to Versace looking prints, to asian inspired garments with cute umbrellas. There was certainly enough to keep the audience interested.
We loved the simple make-up showed below with the fun dinosaur looking stud head pieces, the indian decorative head piece, long red Asian inspired earrings and masks. We also both want a pair of the gold tipped heels! They look so effective when the models all came out at the end.
A few of our favourite pieces were the sparkly lips t-shirt, the black & white graphic print shirt and the black flapper looking dress with feathers. Charlie Brown's show overall had a feeling of extreme glamour; this matched with the bright gold goodie bags and very fashionable looking front row, made for a flashy event.
After the models came out for their finale walk Aja Rock stepped onto the runway. For people unaware who Charlie Brown is they were wondering, is she the designer? or is Aja Rock the designer? It was slightly confusing!
