Just wanted to share with our overseas readers a little star who has emerged recently; Jamie McDell. This girls clearly has a passion for singing and writing music. She is a true kiwi beach girl! He favourite destination is Piha, she loves surfing, skating and her chuck tailors. We love Jamie's effortlessly beautiful style: minimal make up, gorgeous long hair to match her stunning long legs, and casual but cool beach attire.

Our famous singer-songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand attended Diocesan School for Girls (Auckland) before leaving to attend King's College, for her final two years.  Jamie was discovered at the age of 16 by EMI Music New Zealand after sending them a demo tape of her acoustic music. Like most young people these days,  Jamie was proactive and smart, using various social media outlets to gain exposure; posting YouTube videos - including original and cover songs, Twitter and Facebook to get her music out to the masses. She released her debut single, "You'll Never Take That Away", on February 20, 2012, which was certified Gold in New Zealand. Following the success of her debut single, McDell released her EP, All That I Wanted - Acoustic EP, on May 4, 2012, then her second single, "Rewind", from her upcoming debut studio album released in June-this too was and still is top of the charts on all the radio stations.  She is now working on another album due to be released in November called "Six strings and a sailboat"-what a busy girl!  It has been quoted that McDell "just might be New Zealand's answer to Taylor Swift." We however think she is unique and are so excited to see what the future has in store for her.
